When am I charged?: Not during your trial. Signing up takes no card at all. If you add one to pick a plan, the first charge lands on your trial end date — cancel any time before then and you won't be billed.
What happens when my trial ends?: Sending new requests pauses and automatic reminders stop until you choose a plan. Portals you already sent keep accepting uploads, so no client is left stranded mid-collection. If you customized your branding during the trial and then choose Starter, portals return to BookkeeperCollect branding.
Are there upload limits?: Each checklist item accepts files up to 25 MB, in the file types you pick for it — PDF, CSV, XLSX, JPG and PNG are the common ones. Portal links expire 30 days after you send them; you can regenerate a link from the request page whenever you need to.
How is this different from practice-management software?: Practice-management suites run your whole close — ledger sync, workflows, review tools — and usually price per client and sell through a demo call.
